OUR VISION
To become one of the leading palm oil producers in the country, to contribute towards the attainment of sustainable, efficient, and competitive oil palm industry in Ghana.
Denkyembour oil palm company limited is a private Ghanaian firm which has been legally registered with the registrar general, under the company code of Ghana 1963 (Act 179) on 24th August 2017 with the primary function of processing palm fruits into palm oil locally for both domestic and export markets.

To become one of the leading palm oil producers in the country, to contribute towards the attainment of sustainable, efficient, and competitive oil palm industry in Ghana.
To mobilize the capacity of small-scale oil palm producers in the Denkyembour district and its environs for the sustainable development of the local economy, through palm oil processing, for employment generation, and wealth creation.
Our business model is the value chain concept to provide strong forward and backward linkages that would have significant effect on the livelihoods of the rural population by creating wealth and reducing poverty.
Palm oil is a deep orange red in color due to the high content of carotenoids and vitamin E, which confers natural stability against oxidative deterioration. It is a vegetable oil, which is cholesterol-free, and has a naturally semi-solid characteristic at room temperature; with a specific origin melting point between 33oC to 39oC. It does not require hydrogenation for use as food ingredient. Fractionation separates oil into liquid and solid fractions. Palm oil has a balanced ratio of unsaturated and saturated fatty acids. The composition results in an edible oil that is suitable for use in a variety of food
The Company considers the raw material production and supply as critical to achieve project success. Therefore, the Company sources its raw material requirement from private farmers and from the Oil Palm Research Institute (OPRI). However, the Company plans to produce about 60% of its raw material requirement from its own in-house farm. This will allow only 40% of the Company’s FFB requirements to be obtained from the out-growers, and drastically help to reduce the annual cost of raw material required. Consequently, the Company has acquired a 1,000-ha farmland, and through its Promoter’s effort has setup a nursery to raise about 100,000 seedlings for planting.
Currently the machines used for production are all manufactured here in Ghana, comprising of two (2) boilers, two (2) clarification tanks, one (1) expellers and palm kernel nut conveyer/separator. We process forty (40) metric tons of fresh fruit per day and out of this we are able to extract 17% of oil per ton per FFB, therefore we are able to produce almost 7 metric tons of oil a day. As such we are currently producing 2,500 metric tons per annum.
The structure of the palm oil industry in Ghana has been shaped by the presence of two different markets: home consumption and industrial use for domestic manufacturing. The primary customer consists of domestic traders, especially women engaged in small-scale palm oil trading, such as retailers, who buy palm oil in plastic drums and retail in markets in villages and towns; and small-scale food processors and caterers, who are involved in commercial food preparation such as those in the school feeding programme. Other customers include small-scale local soap manufacturers who use CPO as raw material for their industrial activities.
There is a huge demand for palm oil to the extent that more than 200,000 metric tons of palm oil was imported into the country from Malaysia in 2017 to feed refineries alone, presenting a great opportunity for growth in the oil palm industry in Ghana. This provides a good prospect for the Company to expand the processing facility in future.
The Company is collaborating with the Ghana Small-Scale Oil Palm Producer’s Association (GSSOPPA) and Artisanal Palm Oil and Outgrowers Association Ghana to develop an integrated local oil palm industry that relies on the out-grower scheme. The Company, has signed an MOU with the Association. This collaboration will enable the Association realize its objectives in the areas of technology, training, and financial support to enable beneficiary smallholder farmers use improved methods in their agricultural activities.
The Company has taken cognizance of the probable risks that are usually associated with such projects and has put in place mitigating measures to forestall such risks.
The Company is carrying out its activities in improved and innovative manner to maintain the integrity of the environment by collaborating with organizations such as Roundtable on Sustainable Oil Palm (RSOP) and the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) to achieve the expected benchmarks.
The Company’s future expansion plan shall be to acquiring a bigger plant with the capacity to produce 30 tons/hr. thus, providing additional employment.
